The scientific name comes from the Greek word geranos<\/em> (crane), referring to its seed pods that resemble a bird\u2019s beak. Bird names (nose or beak) are common in the names of various Geranium species.<\/p>\n <\/div> <\/div> <\/div><\/section>\n

Mythologies and stories <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

The Bulgarian name for the oil means \u201cthe healthy one\u201d. Another species, Herb Robert (Geranium robertianum), was used to stem bleeding by Saint Robert, bishop of Salzburg in the 7th<\/sup> century. It was used in the 18th<\/sup> century to treat infertility and malignant tumours.<\/p>\n

Geranium essential oil is from Pelargonium crispum \/<\/span> gravolens \u00a0which belongs to the Pelagorium genus. Originating from the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa, it can today be found in central and southern Europe, east Africa, China and Japan. The Zelka Geranium essential oil regulates sebum production and is thus excellent against spots.<\/p>\n

Its effects include fungicide, pain relief, skin regeneration, anti-wrinkle, sebum regulation and sedative properties. Its lovely flower scent is also excellent in treating depression and stress.<\/p>\n <\/div> <\/div> <\/div><\/section>\n

Alps, Apennines, Balkans. It grows well in any soils or stony ground with hummus.<\/p>\n <\/div> <\/div> <\/div><\/section>\n
